Welcome to Parkway Baptist

Pastor Hal Sexton and Family
Pastor Hal and his family joined the ministry team at Berea in April 2009. He is a 1990 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas and has served the last 20+ years as pastor of churches in Texas and Florida. Hal’s passion is aiding individuals in understanding their identity in Christ and helping them to learn to live in that identity throughout their daily lives. He and his wife, Denise, are an inseparable team in life and ministry. Denise is a kindergarten teacher at Shiloh Elementary Charter School in Plant City. They have four children: Emily, a 2nd year student at HCC; Melanie, a 8th grade student and class president at Shiloh Charter Middle School, Susanna, a 3rd grader at Shiloh; and David, an all-boy 2nd grader. Bro. Hal says: “The move to this ministry has been one of the most satisfying in our service to the Lord. The acceptance shown by this church body, and the joy of serving here have been some of the greatest privileges of our life and ministry.”
Parkway Baptist exists to glorify God
We are so glad that you have chosen to explore our website. It is our prayer that it will be informative and help you feel like you already know a little about our church. Our church body has a long history in the Plant City community. From 1935 until 2009 we served under the name of Berea Baptist Church and since November of 2009 we have served under the name Parkway Baptist. Our future is bright with what God will be doing through us in the days to come. Our beliefs have not changed.
Our fundamental values are still at the core of all we do. Our bedrock foundation is built on the truths of God’s Word, and anchored in the historic Christian faith, and unchanged. What you will find “new” here is a new spirit, a new attitude, a new heart and new people. God is blessing our congregation with individuals and families who are dedicated to seeing our world and community changed for the glory of God .
